Something Borrowed

There is no way around it, SPOILERS ahead!

What I liked:

  • John Krasinski was the best part of the movie.  His character said everything that I was thinking and was the comedic relief.  I only wish that his storyline at the end was different.
  • There was a 90's cover band!

Spoiler Alert!  There is no way to talk about what I didn't like without spoiling the movie.
You have been warned.

What I didn't like:

  • Ginnifer Goodwin's character from He's Just Not That Into You + lawyer = Rachel
  • Kate Hudson's character from Bride Wars + even more self centered = Darcy
  • Why do they have to imply that Rachel is less attractive than Darcy?  Goodwin is beautiful!  Why does one friend have to be deemed less attractive than the other one?  Why can't two equally beautiful friends coexist?
  • Why were these two friends?  Darcy is an unlikeable character with no redeeming qualities.  Is it like that in the book too?
  • Dex is a wuss.  Why are we rooting for these two to get together?  He strung Rachel along and it appeared that he was having his cake and eating it too.  They should have shown more of his internal struggle, if he had one.
  • What was the point of Ashley Williams' character, Claire?  Why was she part of this group?  No one seemed to like her.
  • Who is still trying on wedding dresses 60 days before their wedding?
Random Thoughts:
  • Colin Egglesfield does look like he could be Tom Cruise's brother.
  • Apparently Heineken sponsored this movie.
  • There were scenes that were really good but when you look at the bigger picture, it cheapens what happens in those scenes.

If anyone read the book, please leave a comment if the movie stayed true to what you read.

If you like the movie, make sure to stay through the credits for an extra scene.
