What I liked:
- Aaron Eckhart is the best looking President that we have ever had.
- Gerard Butler did well in his role as ex Special Ops.
- It has a pretty impressive supporting cast: Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, Melissa Leo, Finely Jacobsen, Dylan McDermott, Rick Yune, Radha Mitchell, Cole Hauser, Sean O'Bryan, Ashley Judd and Robert Forster.
- It's an entertaining action/thriller flick. Intense at times.
- I like that it is rated R so the language and the fighting sequences fit the script.
- It tugs on your patriotic heart strings.
It is what it is:
- There are a lot of civilian casualties.
- It's very bloody and there are a lot of extreme fighting/killing scenes that might make some squeamish.
- There are some scenes that might remind you of 9/11.
What I didn't like:
- Of course, it was a little unbelievable at times.
Grade: B+
A B at best. An Entertaining flick with a decent cast. Probably saves Butler's career for a few more movies after the last few dreadful bombs of his. Nice to see Harvey Dent and Lucuis Fox team up again. The beginning 20-30 minutes were horrible character set-up, right out of made-for TV movies. Once the action starts, the movie really picks up. If you can extend your belief of one man single handlely taking out an elite fighting squad it's a fun ride.
