What I liked:
- The acting in this film is top notch. Especially given that most of these kids have little to no acting experience.
- Joel Courtney was perfect as Joe Lamb. His big brown eyes showed so much emotion without him having to say a word.
- Elle Fanning is just as good as her sister, if not better.
- The story is rich with creativity, emotion, comedy, romance, and adventure.
- The special effects are outstanding.
- The soundtrack was groovy with 70's hits.
- OLTL alum, Jessica Tuck.
- Felicity and Alias alumn, Amanda Foreman! Thank you J.J.
- One far out hippie played by 7th Heaven's David Gallagher. It's nice to see him do a quality project unlike some of his former 7H sisters.
- You sort of fee a little LOST vibe with the opening score and some Smoke Monster like events.
- It takes place in Ohio.
- Watch the credits for bonus footage and a shout out to the Cleveland International Film Festival.

ReplyDeleteSuper 8 is Super Gr8!
ReplyDeleteIt had a little Goonies / ET flare to it. I was not disappointed!
Great call on the Goonies / ET reference. As Dan Gilbert's son would say, "What's not to like?"
ReplyDeleteGreat comments from both Mikes!
