The Company Men
Unless you go to see movies in a theater or watch late night talk shows, you probably have never heard of this film. I am not sure why the studio isn’t promoting this. I don’t think that I have seen one commercial for it and it’s a shame because it’s a movie that a lot of people can relate to.
What I liked: Outstanding cast – Ben Affleck, Tommy Lee Jones, Chris Cooper, Kevin Costner, Maria Bello, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Craig T. Nelson give quality performances. The characters are very relatable, having both strengths and weaknesses.
The story is very relevant to today which could be difficult to watch or possibly relive. Having said that, it can also make you feel grateful for what you have.
What I didn’t like: The trailer tells you everything that you need to know about this movie and more. The film itself moved a little slow for me. And it really only depicts the white collar unemployment woes while only briefly touches blue collar issues. This in itself isn’t a bad point but it is worth noting before seeing the movie. It might be hard for an unemployed person who made $30K to feel any sympathy for an unemployed character who made $120K plus bonuses.
